Sandancer (AKA Howard Whiddett) is determined to take the electronic scene by storm. Despite “Radial” being his debut single under this moniker, Whiddett has had a breadth of music industry experience. He was actually a member of electronic duo Qtier, who’s music was lauded by fans and tastemakers alike. Their tracks managed to gain over 11 million global streams and gather radio support from the likes of Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Lauren Laverne, Tom Robinson and Andrew Wetherall. He’s also DJ’d with/alongside the likes of Jamiroquai, Róisín Murphy and Snoop Dogg
His latest offering comes in partnership with Theo Ogundiepe. Ogundipe is most notable for starring as Rueben from the Bafta Winning series Top Boy, however, on this track he fully showcases his vocal talents. Instrumentally, the track features and merges impactful synths, grooving bass lines and disorienting sound effects together. This backdrop works hand in glove with Ogundipe’s vocals that land softly but impactfully on top.
Sandancer’s unique sound and take on electronic music is sure to make him a star. With everything in the right place, 2023 is sure to be his year.
