SANSOM drops new video for ‘Sinner’

Brighton-based musician Edward Sansom, the mastermind behind the musical project SANSOM, is making waves with his latest single “Sinner,” which follows his 2021 hit “Saturday.” The release is now joined by its video, set to be premiered at 5pm today.

The new track is a potent blend of thrashing drums, groovy bass lines, and overdrive-soaked guitars, with Sansom’s powerful vocals adapting perfectly to the track’s changing textures and emotive lyrics. The accompanying music video showcases his strong visual aesthetic and outlines his ambitions

Speaking about the track, he says: “The track is inspired by the so-called-rules of certain religions.  I had experienced stories from friends about certain churches that weren’t, exactly, accepting of members’ sexuality.  No one should ever be made to feel like an outsider because of who they are.  Of course, there are some beautiful churches led with a modern direction and love at its centre.  However, I was calling that church out that was backwards in its view of sexuality. I want to stand with the ones that don’t fit in with certain views, people that feel like they don’t belong and show them they’re not alone.”

“Sinner” is inspired by the so-called rules of certain religions that discriminate against members’ sexuality. Sansom’s lyrics call out churches with backward views and stand with people who feel like outsiders because of who they are. His music is raw and honest, reflecting his refreshing take on rock music, and his live performances have landed him on festival stages at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, and Camden Rocks, among others.

With growing fan support and a warm welcome from the music industry, including Track of the Day placements on BBC Introducing Sussex / Surrey and international airplay on RTE2XM, SANSOM is set to release more singles throughout 2023. It’s clear that Sansom has broken out of the pub circuit and has landed his music in front of thousands, and we can’t wait to see where he’ll take it next. If you’re a fan of raw, honest rock music with powerful vocals and inspiring lyrics, then SANSOM is a musical project you need to keep an eye on.
