Section Boyz hit back at The Daily Mail after using their picture for a gang violence story

Section Boyz were recently misappropriated by The Daily Mail AU to be Melbourne’s notorious Apex Gang in a recent story about gang Violence.

The Daily Mail recently publicised the UK grime act using a picture of them in place of what should have been the Australian Apex Gang. Now, Section Boyz have responded, denouncing the use of their image.

The south London act fell victim to the mistaken identity when a Twitter picture of theirs, taken in October 2016, was used in the article. The photo in question has since been changed but was quickly screen-shotted by fans to immortalise the scapegoating.

The widely shared original article was captured and shared on social media, making the rounds yesterday, 31 January. The picture showed Section Boyz sitting at the back of a bus posing for the shot with The Daily Mail headline reading; “What’s stopping them from killing you? Victims of Apex Gang say they no longer feel safe in their homes – as Melbourne’s youth crime epidemic soars

Section Boyz have now slammed the highly criticised news source in a recent tweet stating, “We are not happy with the way you have used our popular picture to slander another group that has nothing to do with us. FIX UP.

It was only a few days ago that Section Boyz made a surprise appearance during Drake’s London show at The O2, 30th January, performing their signature track ‘Lock Arff’. Watch footage from the London show below.
