This fresh EP from the complex mind of Senobia is a fascinating insight into her deepest emotions, feelings and experiences in differing relationships of both the platonic and romantic kind. Each track on ‘Time To Breathe‘, is a breath of fresh air delving into varying crevices of the expansive world of ‘love,’ and Senobia imagines each perspective of love in a truly unique way utilising differing imagery through figurative and potently poetic lyricism. ‘Time To Breathe,’ had a remarkably straightforward writing process whereby Senobia would have a melody stuck in her head and would then transfer these ideas into voice notes with a first draft of the song’s lyrics. Following on from this, after finding a cohesive melody, Senobia would gradually find chords that made sense to the, ‘feeling she wanted the songs to have.’ With the key message of, ‘being able to still find that happiness within yourself when things around you seem really dark,’ ‘Time To Breathe,’ was Senobia’s very first musical project and she collaborated with the extremely talented Carter Sanders at the Plaid Dog Recording Studios with a range of top tier session musicians. The album was idyllically curated to the sound Senobia desired and, despite being just her debut release, she has blown her audience away with tracks such as, ‘Locked Out,’ and, ‘Feelins,’ – ‘As an artist, to release your works of art is really, really scary and I feel like I am confident enough to do that now more than I ever have been in my life.’ We are certainly glad Senobia released this incredible first project which has left her listeners eagerly anticipating for what more this talented, budding artist has planned for us.
Senobia is a multifaceted creative force with the potential to succeed in a dense range of differing musical pathways. Having experience as a vocalist, professor of vocal artistry, composer, and band leader, Senobia is a born and bred musician of Columbus, Ohio whose initial drawing point and influence came from the distinct sounds of Gospel, Doo-Wop and Pop before discovering the enticing tones of Blues & Jazz. Her voice exudes a unique elegance and is so unmistakable that it is sure to encapture any listener almost immediately. With her skill set developed from studying music since the age of nine and has attended prestigious music programs including The Ohio State University School of Music and Shenandoah University’s Music Conservatory, Senobia’s unreputable experience has garnered her the remarkable reputation of one of the best talent to come from Midwest America – certainly not one to miss out on.
