Promoting strong values, providing a raw insight into her experiences and offering a helping hand to her audience. Working as a full-time dancer in a local strip club, Shannon works to break down the boundaries and stereotypes around her work in all that she does, hoping to bring a positive change to the world and especially to fellow women.
After announcing her forthcoming album with the first teaser ‘Dance With Someone New’, Shannon now releases ‘Stay’, a contrasting single that strips back the whimsical atmosphere and optimism, instead delivering a passionate and pained expression of heartbreak. The scene is immediately set with a gentle bass groove and free-flowing guitar solo leading listeners into the music.
As Shannon’s voice emerges from the greenery, there’s a sense of wistfulness around her, almost as if she’s walking through her thoughts, talking to herself to try and come to terms with her emotions. The performance is endlessly warming, each note intricately crafted to pour emotion into the atmosphere. The track steadily builds, feeling rise to their climax and Shannon cries out into a beautiful folk soundscape, filled with reverb, natural instrumentation and a choir of vocals.
Shannon explains the track, ”My second single off of Tangled String, “Stay,” expresses my feelings of yearning and unrequited love. The song equally evokes feelings of heartache and hopefulness, and I hope listeners will allow the gooey instrumentation to melt over them. I encourage you to sit back and listen with your eyes closed to the intricate harmonies and dramatic build of the song.”
