Stockport duo Slomo Casino have revealed the new video for their single ‘Marshmallow’, placing an acoustic spin on the uplifting track. Shot in a cosy living room surrounded by cacti, the song’s visual provides a wholesome accompaniment to the feel-good tune. Stripping back their effervescent debut single without compromising any of the original track’s infectious energy, Slomo Casino have made a strong entrance onto the scene this year.
Speaking about the release, Slomo Casino says: “The EP was written remotely over the past year by myself (Jack Batchelor) and Jonny Ball. The birth of the project came from extreme boredom at the start of the pandemic, we don’t want to focus on that though as everyone is sick and tired of hearing about lockdown. We had wanted to create music together for a while but I guess having nothing else to do helped kickstart the project. We recorded almost everything in Jonny’s home studio using one microphone, the only thing we took to a studio was the drum parts and they were recorded here in Manchester at Blueprint studios, where artists such as Elbow frequently record.”
