Spencer Flay is a singer-songwriter who specialises in the dance and reggaeton styles he brings to his music. Making beats with his ukulele, keys, guitar and a loop station, he enticed audiences, expanding his style with each new release. He first garnered attention in 2018, when the BBC became fascinated with his routine of writing songs in his crane cab over the Bristol Docks. In 2021, he released his debut album ‘Sound Waves’
His latest single ‘Out Out’ features Nicole Silva, known in her own right for vibrant vocal performances. Intricate melodies are paired with pop sensibilities, with bouncy percussion and a plucky synth bringing the club vibes. Spencer’s vocals are colourful and high energy, with relatable lyrics also being a main focus.
“Out Out is my summer banger for grafters looking to get away from their daily grind. Sometimes we just need a night away from real life and I think as we get older we forget how important that night is.
I actually wrote this song last year after my mate’s wedding where all the lads and their wags were free from the kids and were just right up for a sesh. It really made me appreciate that quality time I have with them, even if it ends in a good chunder!
My favourite music to get a dance on has always been a good reggaeton beat and there was no way it wasn’t going to have a latino vibe! My mate and super talented singer Nicole Silva was the perfect match to make that combo come true.
My music video sums it up really, everyone can really relate to this one in one way or another! Big love to my producer Angus Malcolm who really nailed this too.”
