Ständard drops new single ‘SHARP いち’

Jumping headlong into 2022, Ständard is back with a leftfield indie-rock anthem titled  ‘SHARP いち’. Seemingly influenced by the likes of Interpol, Radiohead, and Muse, ‘SHARP いち’ twists and turns through nearly 5-minutes of genre-challenging guitar work, synth lines, and commanding vocal lines that sit nearly over driving rhythms.

Talking about the new single, Ständard shares: “‘SHARP いち’, it is the first song I ever composed, late at night, with guitar on my bed, which, I didn’t know at the time, would become my most prolific composing moment… It’s about the mistakes you make in life that often stucks you in the middle of nowhere.

After a first professional life spent in office jobs, Ständard decides it is time to get into his teenage dream: becoming a musician. In 2020, at 40 years-old. With several songs already composed, Ständard built his home studio and started looking for his own recipe, a subtle mix of electronic and rock ambiances, with a melancholic touch and a powerful but sensitive voice.
