Eiza Murphy is back with her next single ‘Stepping Stone.’
Written by Eiza and produced by her sister Lenii, ‘Stepping Stone’ is about being in a relationship with someone but knowing it won’t last forever.
The song begins with a shimmering melody and stirring vocals from Eiza Murphy but then the vocals become dreamy for a while before the melody of the track switches over to haunting.
Eiza takes a positive spin on this gloomy topic, as not every relationship has to last for a lifetime to be perfect.
With a fierce and experimental production matched with a heart-wrenching melody, Stepping Stone feels like a powerful release of emotion.
Eiza explains that she “wrote this song because sometimes I feel like relationships and friendships are valued based on how long they last.
I’ve had people come in and out of my life in a perfect way, and I wanted to write about that. I think some people are meant to only be in your life for a while, and I don’t think that always has to be a bad thing.”
Over the last few months, Eiza has been finalizing her debut EP and writing songs for other artists – including the most recent songs ‘Anatomy’ by Kenzie and Alan Walker’s ‘Sickly Sweet’ remix.
