Stormzy drops cryptic album messages around London

It looks like Stormzy may well be about to drop his eagerly-awaited debut album, after a series of cryptic billboards have appeared around London this morning.

The posters have been seen in various locations in the capital, including Hammersmith and Shoreditch, and feature the grime don’s #MERKY logo, along with cryptic slogans that could be construed as lyrics, and the phrase #GSAP 24.02, which could well be a release date.

Stormzy, real name Michael Omari, has been working on his LP for some time now so a release is long due. In a recent interview with Clash, he said the record sounds “like Michael personified. And I’m using Michael not Stormzy, because I feel like I need to get back to who I am. There’s been glimpses of people seeing who I am but I’m talking on a musical level… you’re getting the freestyles, you’re getting the records here and there, but you’re not getting who Stormzy is. I want you to understand who I am, what I love, what I hate, what I treasure, what has stunted my growth, helped my growth. I want everything to be in this record.
