Tara Macri drops dynamic track ‘Excuses’

Tara Macri returns with her new foot-tapping pop power track ‘Excuses’. Released by the LA-based Indie label 10 Count Records, the single exudes empowering and feel-good vibes, with Tara’s commanding vocals taking centre stage. The percussion-laced track was co-written with Andrea England and Hill Kourkoutis, produced by Hill Kourkoutis, mixed by the Grammy Award-wining Chris Lord-Alge and mastered by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound. The song perfectly narrates the story of self-worth and having the strength to stand up for yourself in the face of betrayal and broken promises.

Tara explains, “‘Excuses’ is about saying enough is enough. Counting on someone and they let you down. When they break that promise and all you have left are excuses.”

The accompanying video for ‘Excuses’ is a playful artistically shot video, masterfully choreographed (and co-directed) by Tara, Sam Allen and co-director Patrick Liscomb. Shot in a safe, socially distanced environment, the energy and strength from the song is translated perfectly, making for a thoroughly enjoyable watch.

Tara is currently storming her way up the pop ladder, with her release ‘Prettiest Girl in the Room’ breaking Billboard’s Top 80, and receiving extensive air time on Terrestrial and Sirius XM radio. As well as this, Tara has previously landed roles on Broadway in Jersey Boys and The First Wives Club, starring in Hairspray at the Hollywood Bowl opposite Nick Jonas and John Stamos and also being the voice of YoungTigress in the Kung Fu Panda prequel, “Secrets of the Scroll,” (Feat. Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Seth Rogan, and Lucy Liu). Tara’s plethora of talent is awe-inspiring, and her next project is greatly anticipated.
