Thandiwe delivers the love-drenched single ‘Chocolate’

Thandiwe came up as one-half of OSHUN but has now branched out into solo work to soothe the soul. She released her debut EP, Beloved, building in decades of influence to a sound rooted in both tradition and innovation. Culturally rich, effortlessly nostalgic, and forging deep connections with the emotions of her audience, Thandiwe is flourishing.

Her latest single, ‘Chocolate,’ is smooth, sweet and exactly what you need after a long day, the sonic embodiment of its title. The curtains begin to let rays of sunshine in with tight repeating drums, soft, crunchy percussion and the sensual punch of a kick drum.

From there, the track becomes a blooming flower of warming keys, silky vocal performances and soft bass grooves. The love is clear from start to finish, helping the Thandiwe live up to her title of the soul nurturer.

In her own words, “I wrote this song in honour of the sweet, intimate moments of love. So often chocolate is an offering we give to someone special in our life, and I wanted to create something that embodies the comfort, warmth, and joy we feel when we’re with the right person — someone who cherishes us as deeply as we cherish them.”
