If you close your eyes while listening to “One Life”, you might see it, that first blush of sunrise spilling over a festival crowd, the air still cool but charged with possibility. That’s the feeling Grenoble-based producer Thaylo has bottled in his latest release, out now via PLAYY. Records.
It’s the final single before his upcoming EP Drown In Your Eyes (out September 5th), and it plays like both a celebration and a reminder. Anthemic vocals drift over soft pads in the opening moments, building patiently into a pulse of glittering arpeggios, deep bass, and a four-on-the-floor groove that’s equally at home on an Ibiza terrace or during a late-night drive with no set destination.
For Thaylo, the track is personal. “When I first got into music, I was a huge fan of progressive house and EDM,” he says. “‘One Life’ is a nod to those early inspirations — a blend of my current style and the sounds that made me fall in love with electronic music in the first place.” That mix of past and present is exactly what gives the song its emotional weight — it’s not just about movement on the dance floor, but movement in life itself.
Since emerging on the scene, Thaylo’s piano-driven productions have landed him millions of streams, support from names like Martin Garrix, Nora En Pure, and Solomun, and placements on coveted Spotify playlists (Chill Tracks, Melancholia, Afterhours, Open Air, and more). His sound bridges deep, melodic, and progressive house, carrying echoes of influences like M83, Ben Böhmer, and RÜFÜS DU SOL, but with a touch that’s unmistakably his own.
At its heart, “One Life” is about living fully and the production mirrors that mantra. Layers ebb and swell, the beat driving forward while moments of space let the emotions breathe. It’s both intimate and expansive, reminding you that the best nights (and songs) are the ones that balance the high-energy rush with moments of reflection.
