The Commons unveil debut EP ‘Clean Living’

The Commons are Nottingham-hailing indie-rockers who have sold out Beat The Streets Festival and are set for a Rough Trade headliner later this year. Leaving a mark on the local scene and steadily emerging onto a national scale, the band has also seen support from Apple Music for their unique sound.

The five-piece’s debut EP has now been unveiled for the world, the anticipated ‘Clean Living’ coming at the end of press-acclaimed teasers and feverish radio support. Energetic and dynamic from start to finish, their blend of gritty tones and glittering effect-drenched sprinklings is an immediately ear-catching experience. Hypnotic in their arrangements whilst maintaining a rawness and natural feel is a feat they take in their stride, bringing the gorgeous guitar licks weaving in between a consistent rhythm section distorted chug. Topped with passionate, rhythmic vocal performances filled with alternative power, it’s no wonder The Commons has been tagged as one to watch.

The band explain, “Clean Living is an ode to our kaleidoscopic taste in music, with each song giving a flare of something exciting that catches your ears leaving you eager for more. There is a wide range of meaning behind each track in this, it’s not solely based on one event or feeling – it’s more focused on telling short stories and experiences.”
