The Memos find clarity on ‘Born Again’

Liverpool indie-rock trio The Memos have released their fourth single, ‘Born Again’. Previewing their upcoming EP Futures Ours to Find, they bring some emotionally-driven songwriting, detailing experiences that we universally relate to, thanks to their easy-going lyricism.

There’s a slickness to the guitar lines, urgency to the bass and drums, leading the vocals to a euphoric clarity of feeling, and a stadium-shaped overall vibe. This breaking through of vision and self-assurance is delivered across the length of the track, shining and shimmering whilst retaining a hardened indie grit and resilience.

The band shares, “‘Born Again’ is about remembering the power you’ve always had, even when life makes you forget it. It’s that moment when you realise you’re stronger than you thought — when you take back control and start again. A song that epitomises the feeling of betrayal and losing someone close to you. However, even when you are at rock bottom, you can always dig something deep at your core to put yourself back on top and channel self-doubt into accomplishment.”

Having previously co-written with Kyle Falconer (The View) and Justin Hawkins (The Darkness), The Memos are showing growth from release to release, landing radio slots and tastemaker comparisons to Sam Fender and Catfish and the Bottlemen. Not bad company for these Merseyside-based rockers.
