Following a string of teaser singles, The Sea At Midnight return with their latest EP, ‘Burning’. Since their debut in 2020, the band has been making a name for themselves, with their meaningful brand of alt-rock. Recognised for their thoughtful songwriting and atmospheric sound, The Sea At Midnight remain committed to address the urgent realities of climate change. Now they hope to solidify their place in the modern rock scene with their latest project, ‘Burning’.
The five-track EP showcases The Sea At Midnight’s ability to seamlessly blend a post-punk foundation with subtle pop sensibilities. Layered with atmospheric production and indie-tinged toplines, the band calls out a dire need for action against climate change. The EP also features previously released singles ‘Midnight Sun’ and ‘Chopping Them Down’, which have already begun to resonate with their fans.
Speaking about the environmental crisis that inspired the EP, Vice Grant dives in, “Climate change and its devastating consequences have weighed on my mind for years, and over time, it has naturally found its way into my songwriting. I may not live to see its worst effects, but I worry for future generations and what they’ll be forced to endure.Living in Los Angeles, I’ve had a front-row seat to what the future could hold—severe and prolonged droughts, record-breaking heat, and catastrophic wildfires.”
