THILO embraces vulnerability in new EP ‘RUN RUN’

After garnering favorable reviews for his debut EP,
‘INTRO:W,’ the German R&B/pop singer-songwriter THILO, has returned with his sophomore  EP ‘RUN RUN’.

The latest EP explores recurring themes of reflection, personal growth, and romantic adolescence while also capturing the tension of a generation still yearning for something substantial. Instead of seeing adulthood as a goal and destination, the six-track EP approaches it as a journey characterised by change, growth, and progress.

The record’s central theme of “running” is explored on various scales of meaning, as demonstrated by the languid and sensuous lead single ‘RUN RUN’, paying homage to a perfect partner you haven’t met yet, and running towards this destined encounter. Whilst the more beat-heavy and energy-flowing  ‘FLIGHT RISK’ tackles the idea of fleeing from one’s problems and not giving a damn to what other people think.

Speaking on the record, THILO shares: “Running through this world means embracing the unknown, the introspective and emotional chaos, while simultaneously trusting the process of running on, wherever life takes us and whatever situations it confronts us with.”

THILO has always had an affinity for performance. At the age of six, he joined the local gospel choir and not long after secured a role in Stage Entertainment’s musical ‘Beauty And The Beast’. Turning his attention to songwriting, he joined a songwriting camp during which he was mentored by John Mayer collaborator David Ryan Harris, proving to be the catalyst for the rest of his career.
