Tessa Mouzourakis and Wynter Bethel are taking the music industry by storm with their powerful duo Tommy Lefroy, having seen considerable success with their debut single “Northern Towns.” Based in London and LA, the two singers and songwriters are crafting their own style of rock-tinged indie-folk, while telling nostalgic stories about their past relationships and future ambitions.
Now, following up on the soothing acoustic sounds ‘Northern Towns,’ Tommy Lefroy are back with a gem that’s more rock-inspired, yet once again showcases their mature songwriting talents. ‘The Cause’ tells the story of a relationship overshadowed by individual ambition, driven by an instrumental filled with tense guitar licks, great melodies, harmonies, and gentle drum-work.
“We wrote ’The Cause’ about falling for someone who’s too caught up in their own world to make room for you in it. It was a moment of realization – the people we put on pedestals are always going to make us feel small,” reveal Tommy Lefroy.
