Tupac to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Snoop Dog

Snoop Dogg will be inducting Tupac into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next month.

The rappers were label mates at Death Row Records and friends. Snoop has taken credit for introducing Tupac to the record label. The pair also collaborated together on Shakur‘s ‘2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted‘. Snoop will also reportedly lead a tribute performance at the ceremony with rumours that Dr Dre, who has been inducted himself, will be joining him. However, this has not been confirmed and the lineup has yet to be announced.

Other acts inducted this year include Pearl JamYesJourney, the Electric Light Orchestra, and Joan Baez.

The longlist included the likes of ChicDepeche ModeJane’s AddictionJanet JacksonKraftwerk, and MC5 before it was cut down to the final bands.

Neil Young has been confirmed to induct Pearl Jam, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson will induct Yes, and Jackson Browne will induct Joan Baez. The ceremony will take place at the Barclay Centre in Brooklyn on 7th April.
