UK rap artist Yems01 comes through with wavey and euphoric ‘Carhartt Cargos’

Yems01 is an artist coming out of East London who’s first major dabble into music was ‘Jamie Vardy’ releasing via GRM, a year or so ago and amassing over 30,000 views in the first month of release and over 100,000 streams on DSPs, he’s also gone on to feature on underground legends 808INK’s latest album ’Still Here’, as well as dropping his first EP ‘Moving Mad’ only 2 months after stepping onto the scene.

His latest single ‘Carhartt Cargos’ combines a hyper intriguing mixture of new wave ‘rage’ style instrumentation (popularising by US artists such as Playboi Carti, Trippie Redd, Yeat and more) mashed up with an old school grime flow reminicist of artists such as Novelist and Skepta. Together, this creates an atmospheric, colourful and spacey vibe which we’re yet to properly come across in the UK scene (and we’re really into).
