Vargen releases video for his profound ‘Recordia Live’ concert

Recent years have seen Swedish singer-songwriter and lauded Bob Dylan interpreter Vargen creating a vast reputation for his abilities. Debuting his first full-length project in 2017, Sånger från natten, sånger från Dan featured music set to Swedish author, Dan Andersson’s, dark poetic writings. After seeing viral success in his home country, Vargen has gone on to create Bob Dylan translations of covers in 2019’s Bob Dylan På Svenska and 2020’s Love / Leave.

Now Vargen has returned, promoting his self-titled album with a live concert video recording. Capturing his experiences, Vargen guides us through a passionate and well-penned project. Pouring his emotion into each track he performs, the artist spends 40 minutes capturing both the live audience and those watching from home, interweaving his original music with poignant takes on classic tracks by Mark Lanegan, Duke Garwood and Bob Dylan.

Explaining the album, Vargen shares “I wanted to make a story-telling album based on characters, dreams and loves – both made-up and non-fictional.

Our minds associate, connect and draw conclusions. It was when people, times, places – real or imagined – collide or combine that I found inspiration for many of the songs.

I don’t really know how it happens. It might be a dream that lingers. It might be a memory or feeling that changes in an instant if put in a new light. Sometimes it’s just plain fiction.
