Setting the groundwork for the upcoming EP, ‘Honey Pot’ arriving later this year, the mystery artist behind Lil Yamaha has more secret drops planned alongside the new single.
Having their music already enjoying several high profile placements with brands like Moschino and VOXI, Lil Yamaha, who identifies as gender neutral, uses fierce vocals and clean production to create a track that combats stereotyping of the modern world. “When I wrote this, I felt boxed in, categorised and stereotyped.” Says Lil Yamaha. “So many of us can relate to that. Feeling this way made me want to scream about my own confidence and power – loud enough for the world to know I’m not your average teddy bear. We’ve all felt powerless, and my hope is that ‘Higher’ makes you feel like the baddest possible version of yourself. ‘Higher’ is fun and uplifting, it lets you forget about your worries and feel empowered.
