Wavy Banx unveils party soundtrack ‘What Would Wavy Do?’

Greensboro native Wavy Banx has embraced a passion for beatmaking since his youth. Playing drums and free-styling with friends, he educated himself on all you need to know about music, diving into a range of sounds that informed his taste in new ways.

Now, Wavy drops his new album, What Would Wavy Do? A magnetic ten-track collection, serving as a celebration for his roots, grounded in good vibes, slick bars and self-confidence.

The project is filled with old-school swagger and individualised polish, drums bring the energy, basslines are chest-punching and melodic sampling takes you right back to the 90s and 00s.

The performances are refined, knowing when to reflect introspectively and when to channel an inner party soundtrack. There’s no time to hit the brakes, constant innovation from track to track, and a sense of momentum behind every bar.

Wavy shares, “With my last project being centred in growth and healing, this project is about me getting back to being myself, talking my talk, and just having fun. Hence the title “What Would Wavy Do”, bringing me back to the high-on-life feeling I had when I first started making music. Throughout the recording process,I made it my goal to have a blast in the booth, and you can hear it in tracks like “Do That”, “Wavy Walking”, “Right Now”, etc. With the world being as crazy as it is, I want people to have an outlet and enjoy themselves while listening to this project.”
