KITES are an alt/indie rock band based in Newcastle Upon Tyne and have been making waves in the Northeast indie circuit since their formation in 2019.
KITES are best described as a potent cocktail of grunge-tainted indie rock – emanating nostalgia while pushing the boundaries of the genre.
The name of the band came about when they were listening to ‘Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite’ by The Beatles, which they now play before every gig for good luck.
‘Witch’ is their last release of 2023 and begins with a gentle guitar arrangement that slowly picks up tempo and flows perfectly alongside the stirring vocals of KITES.
The track captivates throughout and leaves us wanting more thanks to catchy melodies and anthemic vocals.
