On 27th June, 2025, Yajac, Korea’s trailblazing contemporary jazz artist, will release his latest single, ‘山有花산유화@my flower 진달내꼿’, a groundbreaking K-pop fusion that intertwines the soul of Korean literature with global musicality. This release, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Kim So-worl’s iconic poetry collection Azaleas, aligns with the global spotlight on K-literature following Han Kang’s Nobel Prize win.

山有花산유화@my flower 진달내꼿 reimagines Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 Prelude, weaving electric bass guitars, vibrant guitar riffs, and soaring violin melodies to evoke the blooming energy of mountains and the the fleeting beauty of mountain’s own flower. The track captures the essence of So-worl’s poetry, blending Eastern emotional depth with Western musical structure. Like flowers that shine brightest as they begin to wither, this single reflects the transient beauty of youth, love, and life itself. Yajac introduces K-aria, a new form of aria nouva, delivering a poetic soundscape that resonates with both young Koreans discovering So-worl’s work and literature enthusiasts worldwide.

Since his 1992 debut with Mom in Heaven, Yajac has redefined Korean contemporary music, blending classical, jazz, and pop with unmatched artistry. His iconic commercial soundtracks for brands like Laneige and Samsung Hauzen, alongside his acclaimed Time After Time series, showcase his versatility. From reinterpreting Korean folk songs and trot in collaboration with jazz legends like David Benoit to recording Arirang at Capitol Records for UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list, Yajac’s career is a tapestry of innovation. His recent exploration of the traditional geomungo in Baroque Noir further cements his role as a musical pioneer.
