Yam Haus release the soaring ‘Stupid and Famous’ EP

Yam Haus are back with the project they’ve been teasing since March 2023 with their single ‘Rafters’. First emerging in 2019, this year has seen Yam Haus experience the highlight of opening for The Killer and Death Cab for Cutie at TC Summer Fest. The trio’s take on indie-rock has already seen sustained streaming success since the pandemic, serving to heighten their ambitions as they continue to play the long game.

Their brand new ‘Stupid and Famous’ EP features the aforementioned ‘Rafters’ as well as ‘Sandcastle’, ‘Shakin’ Yer Hips’ and the title track. The band demonstrate their vibrant, full of life sound that feels both authentic and familiar, with infectious melodies that will have you coming back again and again. Their songwriting is consistently at a high-level, keeping the project fresh yet coherent with ease.

Frontman Lars Pruitt explains the project, “Musically, it is a departure from our early pop-synth sound to a grittier, guitar-led sound. Lyrically, it finds me confronting some of my struggles within the band, within my worldview, and within myself.”

A lot has changed since we started making pop music and doing a daily vlog on YouTube for nearly two years straight. We used to be so down to make ‘content’ to grab people’s attention, and these days I find myself feeling a lot less inspired by social media. But the beautiful thing is that I’m still inspired by making music, and connecting with people over music. We hope this EP connects with people, and we can’t wait to play it live in clubs this fall.”
