Despite her recent entry into the music industry, Yasmin Dyer has already earned acclaim from BBC Introducing, achieving ‘Track Of The Week’ early into her recent string of singles. Building her sound on smooth drums, soulful production and intimate themes, Yasmin aims to offer an escape from the day-to-day.
The final teaser single for her debut EP and the title track, ‘Where I Belong’ is a rich and elegant single, taking on a gorgeous laid-back R&B sound. Opening into pulsating synth strings and a warm bass line, the track settles into a gentle groove, with Yasmin’s lead vocal becoming the centrepiece of the musical tapestry presented. Layering her melodies into the chorus, Yasmin brings an angelic quality to a bed of sunny instrumentation.
Yasmin shares her thoughts “Having had a period of instability, this song came at an ideal time as I found my comfort and home within someone. This song has really helped me and I hope it can be someone else’s safe place too!”
