Based between Lagos, Accra and Toronto, the mastermind behind Yinoluu is Yinoluwa Olowofoyeku. His passion for music runs deep, and from a young age he’s been connecting his emotions with music. Olowofoyeku quickly picked up skills of production and started producing his own music and his friends.
His latest offering comes in the form of album “Nostalgic.” A well-penned release, the album is sure to pick you up, pull you in and leave you wanting more. Mixing lo-fi, Afrobeat and classical music elements together, Yinoluu’s unique sound can be heard throughout. From the chilled vibes in “AfterShave” to the irresistible grooves found in “Louisiana Night,” the album certainly has something on it for everyone.
Speaking about the album, they say: “The album was compiled over the course of two years, allowing experiences and emotions to inform and influence the sonic directions the album grew into. Feelings and memories were bottled into each track and expressed sonically. ‘Nostalgic’ is born of a period of Nostalgia whereby feelings from the past and the comforts of the older things seemed to creep back and I decided to express these relatable emotions through sound.”
We, for one, think that Yinoluu will reach the top.
