Adele visits Grenfell Tower to comfort those affected by the fire

Adele visited the Grenfell Tower in West London last night (14th June) which was ravaged by a deadly fire.

The fire started in the early hours of Wednesday morning and has now killed 12 people. The 24-storey block was engulfed in flames with firefighter and members of the community doing everything in their power to help.

34 people are reportedly being treated in hospital for injuries sustained in the fire with 18 of them understood to be in critical condition. There are a number of people thought to have been inside the block when the fire started who remain unaccounted for.

Adele visited the North Kensington site yesterday evening to offer her support to the local community with her appearance being documented on social media. The singer is understood to have made her way there accompanied with her husband, Simon Konecki.

An Adele fan site reported that the singer was “going around and hugging everyone she could to comfort them“.

MP David Lammy tweeted yesterday that the nearby St Clements Church is being used as one of the designated drop-off points for donations. Gestures from Londoners all around the city have been pouring in following the fire including donations of clothes, food, and other essential items.
