Avicii’s parents to inherit his $25 million fortune

The $25 million fortune of late EDM star Avicii will be inherited by his parents, legal documents filed in his native Sweden confirm.

Avicii, real name Tim Bergling, died on 20th April by apparent suicide at just 28-years-old.

Billboard has confirmed that while the musician did not leave a will before his death, his parents will inherit his wealth and estate, said to have a total worth of over $25 million.

Swedish newspaper Expressen.se reported that under Swedish law, as Bergling was unmarried with no children, the wealth will automatically be awarded to his parents.

In 2011, Bergling founded House For Hunger, which he donated millions to shortly before his death.

Speaking of the value of money and his humanitarianism, the late DJ said: “I discovered when I started making money that I didn’t really need it.

“When you have such an excess of money you don’t need, the most sensible, most human and completely obvious thing is to give to people in need.”

In order to keep his memory alive, Avicii’s parent’s repurposed his website into a digital memorial where fans can post their stories about the EDM star – you can share your memories and tributes to Avicii here.

On the website, Bergling’s parents said: “Tim created music that brought people together with timeless memories from all over the world. We created this space so you could share your memories with us and let the world know what Avicii meant to you. His music and your memories are forever.”
