Although Harris’ album announcement has garnered a lot of positive feedback on social media, EDM pioneer Deadmau5 has voiced his conflicting opinions. Following the news Deadmau5 took to Twitter to write: “Anyone ever remember when calvin harris was just… calvin harris? who the fuck are all these other people? like… why?”. He continued: “fucking hate watching what i love to do get raped by popular culture for the sake of selling stupid shit for stupid people… nothing new here. just your typical sellout rant about people who obviously know how to pander shit for the sake of capitalism. moving on.

Deadmau5 also joked that he would announce collaborations with Ghostface Killah, Garth Brooks, Barry Manilow and a potato. See his full Twitter rant below.

Despite the conflicting opinions, Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 is set to be one of the most anticipated commercial records of the summer.
