Australian rock favourite Courtney Barnett has caused a bit of a stir online by posting a couple of teasing and intriguing bits on her social media. In a tweet (seen below) she shared a short clip of her at work in the studio picking up and putting down several instruments and singing little snippets of new songs, before unleashing a very brief but fully polished clip of a brand new recorded song at the end. She admitted late last year that the follow up to Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit is nearing completion, and this new clip suggests that she might be at the finish line and ready to share something with her adoring fans very soon.
In addition to the teaser clip, she also shared a link to her official website, where she is now asking people “tell me how you really feel,” allowing for a 250 character answer. Once you’ve submitted your response you’re presented with a map showing the location of all the people in the world who have already submitted their response, which is a nice way to make you feel less alone.

Courtney Barnett recently finished up touring with Kurt Vile in support of their collaborative album Lotta Sea Lice, which means her schedule is all cleared up for a new album. Let’s hope we got some concrete info very soon.
