Cypress Hill and LSO collaboration for real?

Twenty-one years after a Simpsons gag put them together for the first time, it looks like unlikely bedfellows Cypress Hill and the London Symphony Orchestra might actually be gearing up for a collaboration in the real world.

The stoner-rap legends featured in 1996’s classic Homerpalooza episode, along with a bunch of other behemoths of the era including Sonic Youth and Smashing Pumpkins, and were paired up with the LSO in the episode, which sees Homer join a travelling festival.

Fast-forward two decades and Cypress Hill looking back fondly at the gag on Twitter, only to be picked up in conversation by the LSO themselves. A mere few Tweets later saw the two groups start discussing a real-life collaboration.

After fans responded with excitement to the conversation, the orchestra replied “Our ‘people’ are talking… that Simpsons episode was 20 years ago, so it’s about time!”.
