Ed Sheeran wins permission to install “anti-homeless” sleeping railings outside London home

Ed Sheeran has won planning permission to install “anti-homeless” railings outside his house in west London.

His initial application to create four feet high railings and a stone plinth key fob was rejected earlier this year by the Kensington and Chelsea Borough Council but has now been accepted.

Although the 27-year old superstar denies the railings will be to prevent homeless sleeping, a renewed application has now been approved with the final form stating they will “help to deter rough sleeping“.

Sheeran has since hit back at the claims telling The Sun: “Your story is bollocks, I have done lots of work in the past for crisis and shelter and would never build railings outside my home for that reason. The reason was to keep the paps that you employ from being on my doorstep. Have a good day.”

According to NME, the renewed form for the planned changes reads: “The combination of Portland stone plinth and the railings will help to deter rough sleeping, avoid the collection of rubbish blown on to the concrete surfaced area and provide a desirable level of security without requiring compromises to the internal plan-form of the building…

The changes to his Kensington home are scheduled to be made later this year.
