Esskay marks his arrival in 2013 with the release of his latest video for ‘Mr. Tramp’via SB.TV. This is the debut release from his much-anticipated mixtape White Noise,which is slated for release sometime in Spring 2013.
Hailing from Cheshunt in Hertfordshire, it was at the age of 15 that Esskay embarked on his musical journey. Whilst in a music lesson at school, he observed a friend learning to DJ, and offered to assist by ‘spitting’ some rhymes over the instrumentals. This initial experience was a catalyst in Esskay’s interest in music. In his own words, he “found that music is only limited by imagination, and I didn’t feel comfortable being restrained by the structure of everyday life.” .Letting his mind run free, Esskay teamed up with some friends, began to write more and started recording his own music.
Following a string of successful mixtapes alongside Beat Creatures, as well as appearances on Tim Westwood’s Crib Session and Logan Sama’s KISS 100 show, Esskay stepped out as a solo artist receiving support from Charlie Sloth for promotional records such as ‘Happy Face’, ‘The Room’, ‘Earthling’, ‘Read Between The Lines’ on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra in late 2011-2012.
Fast-forward to 2013 and Charlie Sloth’s support continues on BBC Radio in the run up to the release of White Noise, with exclusive radio plays of new tracks ‘Waves’ and ‘Beautiful Anger’ taken from the project. A year in the making alongside producer Tru Omega, the project has been carefully crafted to perfection with vocal features from the aforementioned along with Mercury Records/Universal recording artist Dot Rotten. With this project Esskay will attempt to display to the world his trademark expert lyricism and superb introspective concepts.
With solid production from Tru Omega and visuals handled in collaboration with Tracer Ital of Nothing But Talent (responsible for K Koke’s ‘Deep In The Struggle’ video), Esskay takes us inside the minds eye of a homeless man. Mr. Tramp.
