Frank Ocean explains lyrics for new song ‘Slide’

Frank Ocean recently featured on Calvin Harris’ new song ‘Slide’, which also guested Migos.

Now, the singer-songwriter has taken to Genius to annotate one of his first lyrics on the new track. In regards to the line “And buy that boy with a pipe,” Frank annotated the lyric with “A picasso painting that sold for so much money.

As Genius further points out, ‘Boy With A Pipe’ is a Picasso painting from the artist’s Rose Period that sold for $104.2 million back in 2004. Elsewhere in the song, Migos’ Offset raps, “Walk in my mansion, twenty thousand painting, Picasso.”

Meanwhile, Ocean announced last Friday that he will be hosting a show on Apple’s Beats 1 Radio. There is speculation that the artist may premiere new songs on the show but nothing has been officially revealed yet. According to a tweet from Beats 1, the show appears to feature selections from Vegyn, Roof Access, and Federico Aliprandi.
