Jay-Z has unveiled a staggering set of new music videos for his 4:44 tracks ‘Legacy‘, ‘Smile’, and ‘Marcy Me‘.
The three uniquely brilliant videos are available on Tidal and include an impressive roster of big names.
‘Legacy‘ is directed by British filmmaker and musician Jeymes Samuel and depicts a rowdy prison break. The short clip stars Susan Sarandon, Ron Perlman, Aldis Hodge and more.
‘Smile‘ stars emerging actors Dominique Fishback and Isi Laborde and tells a love story from the perspective of the rapper’s mother, Gloria Carter. The short film was directed and written by Canadian filmmaker Miles Jay and sees Gloria Carter make an appearance at the end to read a poem from the track.
‘Marcy Me‘ shows a night in Brooklyn’s Bed-Stuy neighbourhood illuminated by a police helicopter spotlight. The visuals were directed by Ben and Joshua Safdie and include the track ‘Marcy Me‘ throughout.
