Kendrick Lamar to produce and curate ‘Black Panther’ soundtrack, releases first track and collab with SZA

Kendrick Lamar and Anthony Tiffith, CEO of Top Dawg Entertainment, have been confirmed to produce and curate the soundtrack to Marvel’s upcoming Black Panther film.

Director Ryan Coogler chose Kendrick to work on the project and said: “I am honoured to be working with such an incredible artist whose work has been so inspirational, and whose artistic themes align with those we explore in the film. I can’t wait for the world to hear what Kendrick and TDE have in store.” Lamar went on to say: “Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is amazing, from its cast to its director. The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I’m truly honored to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside Ryan and Marvel’s vision.

Lamar has already released the single ‘All The Stars‘, a collaboration with SZA and the first track from Black Panther: The Album. The album is due for release on 9th February, with the film hitting theatres on 16th February.
