The Killers have earned their first No. 1 album with their latest LP, Wonderful Wonderful, Billboard reports.
The new album, which was released just over a week ago (22nd September) on Island Records, marks the band’s fifth studio album and is the first offering in 13 years to appear on the Billboard 200 Chart since their debut. In its first week of release, Wonderful Wonderful earned 118,000 album equivalent units with 111,000 of those reported as traditional album sales. The Killers overtook the Foo Fighters new album, Concrete and Gold, knocking it off the top spot which it occupied last week.
Wonderful Wonderful features the previously released tracks ‘The Man‘, ‘Run For Cover’ and the record’s title track, ‘Wonderful Wonderful‘. Listen to the album here.
The Killers last highest charting record was Sam’s Town, which debuted at the No. 2 spot back in 2006. The new LP follows 2012’s Battle Born which debuted at No. 3.
