The track is the first from the rapper since his 2015 album Compton.
Dr. Dre premiered the track ‘Gunfire‘ on his Beats 1 show, The Pharmacy, will appear on the HBO series The Defiant Ones. The documentary examines Dre and Jimmy Iovine’s partnership. According to a representative for Dr. Dre, there are no plans for him to release the song.
The Defiant Ones director Allan Hughes has confirmed Dre is still making music, saying: “People don’t know this: Dre records every day. Literally, he’s in there recording songs every day. He’s like Picasso in that way. He’s always painting. Right now he’s producing, in the 11th hour, a track for Eminem’s latest album. So Dre’s still real active in music, you know?”
‘Gunfire‘ will appear on episode 4 which will air on 14th July on HBO.
