The Mantra stands out as a stark contrast from Novacrow’s usual sound. As a band that usually combines tongue-in-cheek lyrics with wild stage shows, The Mantra is dark, fragile and heavy, contrasting melodic verses with heavy choruses. The lyrics, written by vocalist and guitarist Kitty Staunton, follow a story of personal struggle and the need for mental strength in times of doubt.
The track was recorded and produced by Novacrow’s bassist and backing vocalist Federico Spera and originally made available as a single alongside the band’s fast-paced zombie anthem Fight The Horde!!! Novacrow are a Liverpool based four-piece, Kitty, Jonyx, Federico and Torben, with a mixture of hard-rock, metal and horror influences.
