Founders of Rockboy, Front man Lyraand rockproducer Pontus Hjelm have each already built an extensive history of outstanding accomplishments and experience throughout their own solo careers. Lyra, an established rapper and performer in the UK has previously garnered support from platforms such as stations like BBC Radio 1, MTV, The Box, Capital and Kiss FM and was touted as One to Watch in 2012 by MTV! Already in his career he has supported international superstars such as Chris Brown, Sean Kingston, Dead by April, The Game and many more! Not to mention being mentored by mogul and father of the one and only Beyonce, Mr. Mathew Knowles. Lyracis joined Mr. Knowles in his hometown of Houston, Texas where he helped him to build his craft as a musical prodigy.
Pontus equally has had an amazing career founding the pop metal band Dead By April and signing to Warner Bros And Universal Records internationally. They toured throughout the world including Sweden, Germany, UK, USA, and Japan gaining major achievements along the way such as; Music Publisher’s Price “Newcomer of the year 2009” Bandit Rock Awards (Radio Station) “Newcomer of the year 2009” Bandit Rock Awards “Album of the year 2010” Losing You (Single) – Gold Award Mystery (Single) – Gold Award Mystery (Single) – Platinum Award Rockbjörn (Magazine) “Hard Rock/Heavy Metal of the year 2012”. As published songwriter, Pontus worked with major writers and producers including Swedish platinum producer, ISHi, known for producing such acts like (Tinchy Strider, Tinie Tempah, Jay Sean, Professor Green, Emeli Sande among others).
