Run The Jewels release new music

Run The Jewels have gifted fans a Christmas treat by releasing their third album three weeks early.

The duo – Killer Mike and El-P – have dropped new album ‘RTJ3’ as a free download and billed it as a “CHRISTMAS F***ING MIRACLE”.

Such was the demand from fans to hear the release that a surge in downloads initially knocked the band’s website offline.

Further good news abounds for RTJ fans in the guise of an uncredited appearance from Rage Against The Machine’s Zack de la Rocha on the album’s closing track “Kill Your Masters”, a collaboration reprised from the track “Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck)”, included on 2014’s RTJ2 album.

De la Rocha is currently preparing to release his debut solo album, in turn produced by El-P.

RTJ’s album release was preceded by a special Portlandia sketch, which shows them discussing marketing options for the release – including hiding a USB stick inside a baby and faking El-P’s death.
