Singer MELD showcases self-coined genre “UniverSOUL”

It’s without a doubt that the pandemic has hit everyone a little different. Singer-songwriter MELD (Melanie Dewey) lost her father and aunt in a two month span of time.

With the power of music, she turned her tragic losses into a love project to save the environment. On her release, the third single, Time With You, is dedicated to them.

MELD is an artist on a mission to inspire unconditional love on, and for our planet. Her self-coined genre, “UniverSOUL” can be described as a mixture between the big band gospel feeling of Tedeschi-Trucks Band, the neo-soul and progressive jazz sounds of Becca Stevens and Hiatus Kaiyote.

Words of the Water” complete with soaring horns, deeply thought out arrangements, and empowering lyrics seeped rich with MELD’S social conscious activism is truly a work of art.

It is MELD’s hope that this album will encourage ANYONE hurting – to keep their focus on brighter days ahead, and to seek solace in music and nature when we need a little bit of healing.

In the past, MELD has toured with Ayla Nereo, opened for The Main Squeeze, Maggie Rose, Zoogma, Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers, Brothers Past, and many more.
