T2 Trainspotting soundtrack revealed

Details of the soundtrack for T2 Trainspotting, Danny Boyle’s sequel to his 1996 classic Trainspotting film, have been announced.

Good news abounds for fans of the franchise, in that it has been confirmed that The Prodigy have remixed Iggy Pop’s Lust For Life – which iconically opened the first movie – for the new film, with  Underworld also returning to contribute an updated version of their Born Slippy .NUXX track, which has become synonymous with the film. The new version is re-titled Slow Slippy. In addition, the techno overlords will also be providing a new track for the movie featuring Ewen Bremner, who is a cast member of both the original film and its sequel.

Fat White Family, Young Fathers and Blondie have also been confirmed to feature on the soundtrack. The movie hits UK cinemas from January 27th.

Last year, it was revealed that Oasis didn’t feature on the original Trainspotting soundtrack because a confused Noel Gallagher thought the film was about actual trainspotters.
