The Good Fridays

Hailing from Portadown in Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland, The Good Fridays are a band without pretences. They are, in their own words, “working class lads making music that ourselves and our mates love”, and, “anything else is just a bonus”. And, with the rise of a polished electro alt rock scene that is often more style than substance, their sound is as refreshing as their attitude. This is piano driven indie punk with raw guitars and vocals that fall somewhere between Paul Weller and Ian Brown, and isn’t that exciting?

Their demos, posted on SoundCloud in March, show early potential and their plan for the year is simple; Gig. If you live anywhere near, go and see them. If you don’t, check out the tunes so you know them when they inevitably make it to you.
