There’s a Fyre Festival documentary coming to Netflix

Netflix has dropped the trailer for Fyre, a new documentary about the infamous Fyre Festival, the luxury music festival which went up in flames, all but literally.

The new documentary, which hits the streaming platform on 18th January, is directed by the mind behind Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond, Chris Smith – check out the trailer below.

Netflix has described the documentary as giving “a first-hand look into the disastrous crash of Fyre as told by the organizers themselves.”

The festival, which was promoted by Ja Rule and the now-incarcerated Billy McFarland, was billed as an exclusive event on a private island, with tickets costing between $4,000 and $15,000, and had the backing of A-List celebrities such as Bella Hadid and Kendal Jenner.

But when attendees turned up, they were greeted with nine-hour delays to the private island before arriving at what looked like a half-finished building site.

Complaints on Reddit and social media mounted, exposing the festival describing mountains of rubbish, half-built tents and substandard meals served in polystyrene boxes.
