Ed Sheeran performed a surprise duet with Shawn Mendes last night.
Mendes was headlining Brooklyn’s Barclays Center last night (16th August) when Sheeran appeared on stage to accompany the 19-year-old Canadian singer.
Dressed in bright red shorts and a flannel shirt, the ‘Shape Of You‘ singer sang the second verse from Mendes’ song, ‘Mercy‘.
After the two had finished, the concert headliner announced: “That was just as crazy for me as it was for you guys”. Watch the footage below.

It was reported earlier today that MTV Unplugged is making a long overdue comeback with Mendes apparently booked for the first show. The first new episode since 2009 is set to be filed at the Theatre at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles and will air on 8th September.
