Jared Leto called America a “land of immigrants” during his acceptance speech for 30 Seconds To Mars‘ MTV EMA 2017 award.
The group won the award for Best Alternative Act at the ceremony which took place last night (12th November) at the SSE Arena Wembley.
The acceptance speech began with Leto explaining: “Europe, you have changed our lives. This is for you, this is about you, and we stand here proudly on this stage tonight in celebration of you, so thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you and thank you.”
He continued: “We are Americans – a land of immigrants – and we just wanna say that we welcome you with open arms and with open hearts, and we love you. God bless you. We hope to see you on tour in March and April. We will be coming back to the UK as well.” Watch the clip below.
30 Seconds To Mars are set to kick off an arena tour in March with dates taking place at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena, Manchester Arena, Glasgow SSE Hydro, London O2 Arena and Birmingham Arena.
