Kendrick Lamar performed an intimate gig in New York City last week and it’s now available to watch online.
The gig was hosted by American Express and took place on December 16th at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The show was live streamed on Facebook via Facebook Live, which gave fans from around the world a chance to be a part of the show.
Opening with A Tribe Called Quests’ Ali Shaheed Muhammad performing a DJ set, Lamar followed on offering up performances of fan favourites from his previous studio albums; ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’ and ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’. The sold out show was exclusive to American Express customers with the venue hosting a capacity of 550, leaving some fans frustrated.
During the gig, there were also select performances from a few audience members including local NYC rapper, Kemba. Lamar was so impressed with Kemba he credited him there and then erupting – “Remember that motherfucking name – Kemba!”.
You can now watch the previously streamable show below via Kendrick Lamar’s Facebook.
